Wedding arch and arbor sizes

The arbors we rent, measured

In feet: the Carolina and weathered 2-post arbors are 7 feet 6 inches tall, the round arbor 6 feet 5 inches, the cross arbor 8 feet 3 inches with its base, and the circle gold arbor 9 feet 6 inches. The round arbor is the widest relative to its height at 85 inches, about 7 feet.

How tall a wedding arch should be

Most wedding arches stand 7 to 8 feet tall (typical) and 4 to 6 feet wide (typical). The height that matters is the inside clearance, which is lower than the overall figure once you subtract the top of the frame and any florals hung from it. If the couple or the officiant will stand beneath the arch rather than in front of it, measure the tallest person against that clearance, not the listed height.

Indoors, under a tent or on a porch

Add the height of any florals or draping to the arbor’s height and compare the total with the ceiling or tent peak. An 8-foot ceiling is 96 inches:

• Under 96 inches before florals: the round arbor at 77 inches, and the Carolina and weathered 2-post arbors at 90 inches.
• Over 96 inches: the cross arbor at 99 inches and the circle gold arbor at 114 inches. These need a higher ceiling, an open tent peak or the open sky.

Width, depth and the wedding party

Width sets how much of the ceremony the arbor frames. The cross arbor is 61 inches wide, the Carolina and weathered 2-post arbors 74 and 75 inches, the round arbor 85 inches, and the circle gold arbor 9.5 feet across. Stand a tape measure where the couple and officiant will be before you choose. Where space is tight, check depth too: the Carolina arbor is 24 inches deep.

The Cinderella arbor comes as a two-post or a fuller four-post frame. We have not yet published measurements for the bamboo and triangle arbors; ask for them with your quote.

On the beach

A beach arbor has to go up and come down inside the beach’s setup window. In South Walton, setup can start one hour before the event and take-down must finish within an hour after it; on Okaloosa County beaches, nothing goes up before 7:00 a.m. The beach wedding permits guide has the rules for each beach, and the beach wedding rental checklist the rest of the order.
