Planning help
- Chiavari chairs vs folding chairs
Choose Chiavari chairs for a dressed reception table and folding chairs for volume seating, lawns and ceremonies that are set up and struck quickly. If one chair has to do both jobs, choose by the ground: slender Chiavari legs settle into soft sand and wet lawn, so they suit a floor, deck or firm surface best.
- Beach wedding permits on the Emerald Coast, by beach
Which permit you need depends on who manages the sand: Okaloosa County schedules and permits every wedding on its beaches and parks, and Walton County requires a permit for every wedding on a public beach access in South Walton. City of Destin beaches, Henderson Beach State Park and Navarre Beach each have their own rules, so confirm with that office before you book rentals.
- Wedding ceremony chair layout: spacing, rows and counts
Space ceremony rows about 36 inches from the back of one chair to the back of the next (typical), and set 6 to 8 chairs on each side of a center aisle about 5 feet wide (typical). For 100 guests that is 7 rows of 8 per side, 112 seats, which also covers the 5 to 10 percent spare chairs rental guides suggest (typical).
